NEW Clash Royale Units - Fire Spirit, Furnace, Guards [May 3rd Update]

So another piece of info has dropped on my lap. There are 3 confirmed new units that is coming tomorrow and possibly 3 new legendary units as well that hasn't been revealed!




They are the Fire Spirit, Furnace and Guards.

Fire Spirits 
unlocks in Spell Valley Arena

Common

This card is interesting because it acts like a wall breaker in clash of clans. Except for walls of course, it locks onto air and ground targets and commits suicide. You technically have 3 wizard fireballs that are thrown at the target. So it counters melee group units like the barbarians and minion hordes very well.

However! Always a but! It does not do well against RANGE targets at all. As range targets will be able to destroy them before these can get close to detonate. Range attacks can kill them without getting hit at all so beware. Also of course a zap spell can kill them all in one shot.

All in all I think this might be a very powerful card as it counters minions and barbarians which are two very popular and powerful cards. It only costs 2 elixir!




Furnace

Spawns 2 fire spirits at a time.


Now the furnace is a building that spawns two fire spirits at a time. So it acts as other spawner buildings, releasing spirits over time. This building is a great counter to barbarian huts.
Of course it can also act as a distraction to units that are attracted to buildings.

I feel like this card is almost like a counter part to the inferno tower as it is effective in destroying supporting units (the less beefier units and swarms). So Inferno tower for the tanks like giant, pekka, golem and this tower for the supporting units usually at the back of those tanks.








Guard

3 melee skeletons with a barrier.


At first glance, this card looks very weak. However it actually is not. These guards have a protective barrier similar to the dark prince, but under the barrier it is as weak as a normal skeleton.

These powerful suckers can effectively counter a pekka (with a crown tower's help of course)! I've seen it. Because for single target attacking units like the pekka, mini pekka and prince. It would take them 6 hits to kill them all (because of the shields). As well because of the shield, these skeletons cannot be countered with a simple zap spell like how normal skeletons do. That is a huge elixir advantage.

I feel this card is the counter part to the Dark Prince. As the dark prince helps take out swarms. While this card helps take out the tanks.
I am very excited for this card as it helps counter a lot of strong meta cards. But being an epic means it will be harder to level up and test them out.

So all in all, I think these upcoming cards are going to stir up a lot of heat to current meta decks. As Guards would be a very effective counter to the dual prince pekka decks you see. And the Fire Spirits being a great companion/supporting unit for offense and defense. For example pair them with a hog attack. As people usually counter it with minion hordes or barbarians which fire spirits eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
